Mitiamo: a water authorities solar journey
Introduction
In this presentation we look at a 100 kW ground mounted solar system that combines with a 404 kWh Sungrow energy storage offering that we completed for Goulburn Murray Water.
GMW just recently constructed the Mitiamo pump station and Lagoon comprising 300 km of pipeline servicing 150 landholders and 90 rural houses and the system comprises 340 tapping points servicing approximately 58,000 hectares.
The lagoon was designed to be 85 megalitre capacity and to run 2 metres below the GMW supply channel so irrigation could occur directly out of the channels outside of the winter months.
The solar and battery system, designed, procured and installed by Greenwood Solutions will potentially remove the need to use non renewable energy from the grid and this project is designed to demonstrate the technologies and environmental focus of GMW on renewable energy and a carbon neutral status.
There are already plans ahead to add to this system in the future.
Shout outs
A big shout out to Goulburn Murray Water for trusting us with this important project and a massive shout out to all the Greenwood team involved.
A special thank you to Jake who project managed, site supervised and performed all the nitty gritty A grade tasks required without complaint on an incredibly demanding site.
