How can we help you today?
We're ready for AS/NZS 61439, are you?
What is the new standard?
So what we are talking about is the new Australian standard for switchboards which is AS/NZS 61439 which comes in to play May 2021.
Effectively if your secondary protection board has not been type tested and certified you will not be able to turn on your commercial solar system.
Shall and Should
As with all standards there is a ‘shall’ and ‘should’ component, and with the requirement for type testing and certification for boards - this is a definite ‘shall’!
What does it mean for you?
As a designer or installer of commercial solar systems you must ensure that your board is compliant and fit for duty, as the ramifications both financially and from a customer satisfaction point of view can be dire.
