On Thursday August 8th (at 5:28pm), we received confirmation of our certification to the “ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems” Standard. If you’re wondering why the need for the specific time - it’s because this was a huge undertaking for Greenwood, and it was a huge moment for our business when the word came through from the certifier - it feels right to us to be specific.

“Renewable energy products, training and services including consultation, engineering and design and installation”
(the scope of our ISO 9001 certification)

“In the solar industry we’re used to standards, and as an engineer it’s something you develop a strong stomach for, but it goes without saying that adhering to an internationally recognised standard like ISO 9001 is a massive undertaking. At Greenwood we’re kept busy enough, but with the added pressure of being audited twice, we really pushed our team to the limit.

It was daunting having our business pulled apart on two occasions but it was immensely rewarding to get positive feedback from the auditor that how we have been conducting ourselves over the years was, for the most part, with the spirit of the standard in mind.

Climbing the ISO mountain was difficult, but standing at the top and simply enjoying the view isn’t in our nature. We will endeavour to push the limits and strive for continual improvement. I look forward to our next expedition and the heights our team can reach”

  • David A. Fulton (Head of Engineering)

So, why is this piece of paper so important, and why should it matter to you?

For us, this has been a transformative process. We’ve clarified what works for us, modified what doesn’t and now view this outcome as a kind of Statement of Intent, from Greenwood to you, our Customers.

We feel that we’ve come a long way in the past two years. We emerge Smarter, Certified and with a galvanised, top-down and systematic commitment to exceed our customers’ expectations. It’s an outlook to which we rededicate ourselves, knowing it will deliver us the sustained success needed to remain a business at the forefront of the commercial energy revolution. We are truly excited for what’s next to come.
