We mentioned logging briefly in the auditing slides but what is it exactly?
Logging is conducted with a piece of equipment called a Power Analyser. As the name suggests it analyses power. It does this in a number of ways but what is important to keep in mind is that logging is essential if we are to understand how our clients consume and use energy. One example would be the generation of a load profile diagram. The Power Analyser monitors the electricity being used by a business and plots their consumption on a graph.
The insight gained from this graph enables us to correctly size a solar system, for example, to that particular businesses needs. Accurate data is incredibly important when making predictions and calculating payback periods.
